Tablets vs PCs in SA

“Consumers are starting to recognise that a tablet or smartphone is a consumption device, with a notebook being a creative device,” he said.
I suppose that depends on your definition of creativity but a lot of people I know are buying tablets instead of upgrading/replacing an existing PC or laptop - iow as a second device.

Sell them in SA at US prices then you will see tablets fly off the shelves. Besides who buy's tablets at IC.... have you seen their prices?

Also, Only in SA will you find a iPad mini for less than a Nexus 7.....

Same for pc.. sell pcs here what they cost in USA.. and see them fly.

Edit: I still think tablets won't outsell netbooks/pcs/notebooks etc. I see the guys in the office , the tablets become e-readers at the end of day (after the "wow" factor wears off).

I buy from them because their prices are exactly the same as the iStore and ZStore and all the other Apple retailers. The only difference was that Incredible Connection didn't mess me around like the iStore.

Thanks did not check the Apple pricing, so I guess Apple use their same pricing strategy in SA as in the US. Pity can not say the same for Android.

Sad, really. I was eying the Nexus 4 but its way to expensive here. The 8GB version is $299 in the US Playstore. That's just over R2600. Would have been a bargain.

I also couldn't believe the prices of the ipad mini at some stores, marked at the same price as a normal ipad.
