Take a peek inside the new iPhone SE

Looks like most iPhones, which is good.
When does it land and go on sale in SA?

I think the iPhones are little overrated. I don't understand all the hype about the new iPhone if it's basically a slightly different compilation of the previous versions. It's not for nothing people are satirically called it Apple Frankensteined, which is very funny as for me. I think that iPhones nowadays it's more like an accessory that most users buy for prestige.

Yawn.

No, none of the above.

And the age old prestige bullshit comment especially doesn’t apply in this case being a cheap phone packing lots of power.

Nothing overrated about it at all. People seemingly just can’t handle that it’s that good.

Enjoy the iPhone Se's 3.5 hour screen on time

That's so good for $400

If you think $400 for a phone packing one of the best processors is overrated then go ahead. But it's probably one the best things they've done in recent years: Bringing the price down for a good piece of hardware.

Jesus bud at least use some facts if you want to make an argument.

It has on screen video time of almost 9h. 14h if just browsing.

Besides I’ve got no interest in the SE personally, I’m on an 11 now. But a I’ll recommend it to a great many people.

How empty must one's life be that you would go and argue about Android vs Apple in an Apple thread?

There's nothing wrong with pointing out the terrible battery life. Even last years Pixel 3a or Samsung A20 smokes it out the water...

So what about smartphones that are in the iPhone SE's price range? It doesn't look good there, either. The $399 Google Pixel 3a lasted a very impressive 11 hours and 59 minutes on our battery test, so you're getting 2.5 hours of extra juice out of this Android phone.[/QUOTE\

Let me rephrase that

3.5 hours of continuous usage on one charge

I would like to get one of these to replace my old iPod Touch, this is now unusable because of the lack of iOS updates.

But, as a media device, I would want a lot of memory, maybe a 256GB ?

Also, the price for a 256GB may be unaffordable, will have to wait and see what pricing is like in Banana Republic money.

The new iPod Touches are junk, I would rather get an SE for this purpose..

This doesn’t seem representative of the real world in any way and seems way out of line with other battery tests and reviews out there.

But if it makes you happy then so be it.

My wife has an iPhone 8 that has the same battery as the iPhone SE and gets through an entire normal day quite happily.

Yes there is a 256GB but as you say the price might be prohibitive.

What would the 256GB be used for? If it’s for music then the price difference would buy a hell of a lot of Apple Music subs that solve the problem of storage.

It’s why I don’t see much do a use case or need for more than 64GB if you embrace the cloud.

No, just about 25GB of music the rest is for Netflix, ShowMax and Amazon video.

Basically for when I am travelling, and don't have good wifi or cheap mobile.

And for Audible books.

Also use it to cast to Hotel TV's, etc, I take a Chromecast with me.

So I do need the 256GB. Or maybe I can use a 128GB, will have to think about it.
