Takealot disaster

Oh Ive had a few those
I didnt mean my orders were always spot on correct to the day
What I meant to say is I have never ever received a wrong item
Nor had any trouble returning an item
The service has been 100% acceptable
Only gripe is 3rd party sellers that take their time to deliver
That is annoying

I've never received a wrong item, but I've definitely received an item that was clearly used or completely broken or both. Sometimes it seems like their returns department just puts stuff that people return back into stock.

Oh wait I did receive a wrong item once
I ordered pet food for my ex
I received a massive parcel of huggies nappies
It was worth way more than the pet food
So I kept it and gave it to one of our guys here at work that lives in Khayelitsha for his new born son

Terrible sales, insanely priced items, near dog poop customer service list goes on and on and on, may the savior Amazon come here and just take them over and we can finally get decent online sales and great customer service.

Edit: I have ordered before on both takealot and amazon same day, Amazon arrived days before takealot and takealots warehouse is maybe 10km away from me, Item from amazon came from Alabama :/

Takealot has gone from being my first-choice go to for ordering anything online to my absolute last option if I can't get something anywhere else. And that is the core of their problem.

I like Takealot but have found myself buying less and less recently for some unknown reason - sometimes no stock of what I want but mostly just a "bleh" attitude. Cannot place my finger on why I feel that way.

Would have bought quite a few dvd's (empty as well as movies) in bluray from them over the last few years but I could not cause they have decided nobody wants to use it anymore and stopped selling it. So I got it elsewhere.

I used takealot for a small item earlier this year. Got something completely different to what was advertised. Asked for a refund. They refunded, but I never got a refund on the delivery fee. Decided to avoid them as best I could from then on.

There are so many third party suppliers' products on there nowadays that you just can't be sure are going to be what you've actually ordered when they arrive at the door.
Exactly, they are letting anyone sell anything on their platform and it's killing and already declining reputation.

I don't understand how the dominant online retailer cannot make profit. Are they owning off costs from infrastructure? Was this known and planned for? Doesn't make sense
Yeah, how do you make a R400 million loss and still keep the doors open?

For me it's price gauging by third-party sellers.

Example:

Most retailers, including Takealot, sell these items for R80. However, when Takealot runs out of stock, certain third-party scalpers feel compelled to excessively increase the price (in this instance by over 200%)

Mr D drivers are a tragic, underpaid lot. It's not fun receiving deliveries.
Loads of these guys are actually third parties delivering on behalf of the Takealot drivers who are “outsourcing”. Seems to happen in areas with a surplus of delivery drivers and app drivers.

How many companies have actually made a profit the last 3 years. The goverment has created an environment where companies keep the doors open until the very last minute and close down. Takealot will be no different. If there is not a major change in government next year, for the better, it is only a faster decline downhill..... And we know what to expect.

This!!! It is getting increasingly harder and harder to keep the doors open. My staff that passes away or resigns/gets fired are not being replaced. Scraping by each month barely. I have a cut-off line of when to call it quits and throw in the towel before throwing good money after bad just to keep the doors open and people employed. Still making money atm, just.

They moering us with act upon act that we need to abide by and governing bodies one after the other. Bewaar jou siel if they want to audit/inspect you.

Fines to oblivion and jail sentences await you.
