Takealot disaster

For me it's price gauging by third-party sellers.

Example:

Most retailers, including Takealot, sell these items for R80. However, when Takealot runs out of stock, certain third-party scalpers feel compelled to excessively increase the price (in this instance by over 200%)
Scrub Daddy. Is that a poor man's fleshlight?

I miss Kalahari. Never had issues with them ever

Loads of these guys are actually third parties delivering on behalf of the Takealot drivers who are “outsourcing”. Seems to happen in areas with a surplus of delivery drivers and app drivers.
I've noticed this a few times with Mr D Food and UberEats, where the pic of the driver doesn't vaguely resemble the actual driver. The one time a surly-looking guy dropped my stuff off when a woman was supposed to be doing the delivery.

I figured maybe it was the husband or she was genuinely under the weather, so I didn't report it.

My girlfriend ordered some stuff the other day a whole load

Then in the one box just smaller than a shoe box was one pen

Yet the other big box had ample space
I don’t like it, but I also don’t like when they pack a paperback and pool stuff or drinks in the same box.

This is what happens when you have increasingly poor service, staff either knowingly packing in damaged goods or stealing stuff from the package during packing, and delivery dates on the website that are way off! Point in case, after endless recent returns, one of which delayed a Mother's Day gift by weeks, I placed an order on Saturday that was due for delivery this Friday, and suddenly this morning it is only arriving on the 20th! This is for a birthday gift needed THIS WEEK FRIDAY as per the delivery date at the time I placed the order. Well done, Takealot - you ruined yet another special occasion with incompetence! Whoever runs their website should be fired, as should have their packing staff.

It's not even the R800 that bothers me - it's the scummy 'was R1029' to try push the R800 as a bargain.
