Taking telecoms competition to Telkom

The mythical SNO

Does anybody know if SNO Telecommunications (I believe that's what they call themselves) has a website? Google just comes back with news articles and discussions about the joyous occasion last Friday.

The best I could do so far is:
http://www.tata.com/0_tata_worldwide/africa_calling/articles/20050421_rainbow.htm

BTW does anybody own a Tata car? If so is it any good? The score at hellopeter.com reads 9 good, 31 bad:
http://www.hellopeter.com/cwdsearch...=0&supplier=TATA&keyword=&industry=non&alias=

I've read some of the 31 complaints, and it sounds horrendous. New cars being delivered in unroadworthy condition, numerous trips back to dealer, no joy, etc.

If Tata's phone service is anything like their cars, who knows what awaits the poor SA consumer?

i have been thinking the same thing.

They dont have an official web site as yet and they need to get out their contact details for ppl to apply for work.

How else we going to be able to contact them to give them our business

Tata's cars are cheap and rubbish. Hopefully their telcoms are different (A bit cheaper, but good quality)

They don't even have a name yet.

And they took 3 years to complete a stupid application that should've taken a week.

Telkom will probably throttle or filter access to their sites and serices. And completely deny it, of course.

Who will ever know?

The local loop will be the crux of the battle. Maybe the SNO should do deals with Sentech, iBurst, Vodacom (meerkat definitely excluded, it's NOT welcome), Cell C and MTN to give hellskommels a good run for their money... All wireless (cheap cheap fast fast) and no fixed wiring (which can be messed up) should be the way to go...

This way they'll be bypassing hellskommels completely... and end up by not paying them one cent...

I think wireless would be the way to go, especially in our country. Im not to sure how it would handle 100 connection per square km for urban areas, and what sort speeds you would get with that.
