Taking your computer abroad

Heya

Might be moving abroad in the latter part of the year.
I'd like to take my PC with me, in my hand luggage :/

My current PC:

8700k small OC w/ 280mm NZXT X62
Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 motherboard
32GB Trident Z 3200mhz Ram
Gigabyte 1080ti 11gb Extreme edition
Couple M.2 NVMe,SSD's & HDD's.
Seasonic PSU x750 Modular Gold
Cooler Master H500p Mesh White

My thoughts/options are:

1) Sell the whole PC and build a new mini itx PC. Thinking one of those really small ones. 10-15litre case.
2) Scavenge parts and build a mini itx PC.
Parts that will be used; 2 x 8gb sticks ram; nvme + ssd; 8700k CPU. Balance will be purchased (Case, Mobo, PSU ,1660ti GPU)


Opinions?

Take the HDD or just the data and leave the PC ------ A laptop is something that ravels --- a PC is not. Surely you will be shipping some other goods? Pack it up with those goods
 
A buddy of mine packed his motherboard,CPU,RAM, GFX card and hdds in lots of bubble wrap nicely in a box and put it in his luggage. Arrived with him safely in Abu Dhabi. He bought a brand new case, power supply and monitor over there.
 
I don't think there is any problem taking pc parts with you abroad.
 
You can take all the parts minus the case in your luggage or you can sell before you leave and build new that side.

Where are you going? The reason I ask is some places are more expensive than SA for PC parts.

I would have a look on carb to see what the individual components go for. There are also complete systems for sale, you might find one matching your specs to get an idea of price.
