"talk' contract for Data usage

Hi All

Looking for some answers, vodacom stores haven't been able to help...

Anyway, I have a data contract with MTN, which is ending and I'd like to move over to vodacom.
I already have a e220 usb modem, so i dont need another one, but I would like to get a new cell for my fiancee, but obviously I dont need any talktime/free minutes. i.e she gets the phone, and I use the sim for 3g only, (and not wasting any free minutes etc)

So why don't you go PP ?
DO you want to take out a contract and get the phone free ?

Look at one of the top-up contracts. I'm pretty sure you can get a phone on that and then you can just convert the time into data bundles and have the added bonus of keeping a lid on your internet spend.

thats what I want to know basically - can I 'convert' the minutes into data?

thanks! that what I wanted to know.
one more question, will it be a straight swap i.e. R50 talktime = R50 of Data at R2.00?
or can I use the monies to buy a data bundle ( to get the benefit of bundle rates)
 
Family top-up = R 135

250mb = R 139

Looking at it in another way:
I normally use about 1gig per month, so that would be R289 p/m
So i guess I'd like to know which phones come with a contract in this range?

Im on a business topup 315 and each month i add R 100 and convert the monies i get from that to databundles. :)

ie, Get R 315 airtime, then do the instant topup for R 110, and buy a 2gb databundle for R 389. Im left with a few rands to sms with, and the R 110 instan topup gets charged to my monthly payment. :)

oh, i got a "free" Samsung G800 when i took out this contract year and a half ago.
