i will really appreciate if someone can explain why i forfeit talking points.my strategy is to accumulate a 1000 points so i can trade them in for cell phones etc.this is the second forfeit/knock i had to take in 6 months.thanks in advance.

I sometimes wonder the same thing. I suppose if they didn't expire, then the company would have to spend money on giving people a cheap handset. Even the alternative 'awards', SMS bundles, expire and are difficult to use up within the time limit.

Voyager Miles (SAA) does a similar thing, except they also make it difficult to claim anything.

On the other side fo the coin, Kauai (Smoothie company) gives those little stickers for every purchase and they haven't changed any of the terms since they started and haven't expired them. That's an example of good PR.
