Hi

My bank card was cloned recently. Luckily I stopped the card before they managed to get any money.
After checking my bank statement and not noticing any places where I thought my card details might have been swiped. I started playing with tap and go and NFC using the blocked card and the first few apps on the play store I was able to get the card number and expiry date.
There was also other details but it was encrypted with the free app.

Do the RFID blocking wallets work and are they necessary? Is the card number and expiry date enough to clone a card?

I have tried to ask the bank themselves but they are not being very helpful.

This is something we are looking at as well. Either way the risk is not on you, the bank must take responsibility after you cancel.

If they clone your card from the info they get on the tag the vendor takes the risk, either they do hotcard checking or its their problem.
I don't believe you can clone the NFC tag, its not that simple.

If they clone a card from the tag it works the same way as normal cloning - bank should take care of that.
