Tappet Cover Gasket

Here is the job:

Engine mount has to be loosened to remove the tappet cover... only on a Renault.

That's quite a job on that car, gotta take the inlet manifold of first. Wonder which renault the OP has?
 
It's not a high pressure part of the engine so if it ain't weeping leave it. If it's part of the service plan then they should replace at no cost to you to ensure your warranty is not voided.

Surely you mean a torque wrench?
 
Renault requires a certain tool to undo stuff. I've heard many talk about it, I've seen it when I tried to undo something. But still... suffice to say, when it comes to certain things, I'd rather just have Renault do it, simply because I really stress too much about my car - if it was to break (We talking SERIOUSLY), I honestly don't think I could afford repairing it.

The special tools manufacturers use are normally available either online or from decent spares shops, no idea why they still do it.

It's pointless.
 
I'm very happy with my Renault hey, she runs like a dream.
I probably stress too much because of what has happened to my girlfriends brothers Renault.
But touch wood, since I've gotten her, she has run as well as can be expected and with everything I own, I look after it.

Having said that, you can say "buy a real car" but it doesn't really matter what car I buy, cars are like computers - some you will have endless issues with, others you will have no issues with at all. It's a mechanical device, I'll just look after it as best as I can and expect the best at all times.
