Taskbar problem

I have too many programmes running in my taskbar and want to stop some of them from srarting at bootup but can't a way to do it. I have Windows XP.

enter "msconfig" in Run, go to the startup tab & untick items you dont want to start with windows

A program that you can try which might simplify the process is WinPatrol. You can also keep programs from running at startup, it notifies you when something new is trying to autorun at startup (which you have to either approve or deny) and it gives you a description of the program so that you don't go accidentally stopping a critical program or service.

marco are you a hacker, they (hackers)are the only people that needs so many apps open at the same time on one desktop?
