Barack Obama did an excellent job of using social networking sites and other online tools to engage with and mobilise voters

all the more reason to keep people in the dark - control of the media, do not eat the fruit that grows on the tree of knowledge good and evil

and thats probably why the pro ANC ivy matsepe tried to keep us in the dark ages with her pro telkom/high price internet. In the hope that only the select few who can afford broadband have access to non propaganda media..thus keeping the masses in the dark regarding the terrible value for tax government we have, so doing losing less votes than they whould if say everyone had access to broadband....broadband is anonomous with freedom of information these days, refusing people access to internet can almost be compared to refusing access to library's...affordable broadband for the general popolous ought to be a right

Would be interesting to see to what degree Obama, and local political parties, keep using these technology tools after elections closed.

"Technology can advance democracy"...true, but it won't increase our current leader's intelligence. or rather, he won't be able to utilize the technology for his personal or ANC partys gain.... besides, our country is slowly slipping into communism
