technologydirect.co.za - HP - your thoughts

That is a very good price, almost R3000 below cost, excluding VAT. I would wonder how they get that price....

Haven't looked at the site but they probably ship things from China... And is nephelyn's low post count not a bit suspicious to be posting shop links?

If they're selling the machines onto the public at R3k below cost in this country.... Then they're bringing them in through non "official" channels, and I'd be surprised if HP locally would be keen on honouring the warranty.

cardene, sorry to burst your bubble, but i am only asking for advise. The whole reason i am asking because like you i cant understand why it is so much less than all the other places. So once again has anyone had any experiences with this online shop.

So lets put where it comes from aside. Would the extra R3K be worthwhile to upgrade to the duo. I mean what is the big difference anyway? Dual vs Duo and is it worth it?

I'm in the market for a new PC, and have been comparing prices from different online retailers, Granted technology is cheaper, but not by a helluva lot. They do have some good specials on. Whoever set up the website really has done a fairly decent job too.

Ok. Regarding the differences between dual or duo or whatever you want to find out, Google is your friend. ;-)

I did consult my friend. It seems it is not worth it, only difference is the amount of L2 cache. I was hoping to draw on other people experiences, but instead it seems my post count is to low, which i can easily change by commenting on peoples low post count.

Ooh its a lowbie! Lets all gang up on him and beat him like a runaway slave! Btw im joking here.

So i ordered the laptop from them and it came in one day ... awesome!!

Just had to let you guys know.
