Telecommunications - how does SA compare?

it doesn't compare well at all.telecom prices are the highest in the world.
 
Bugger all the issues of cost, I just want something that works. I got onto this forum to check why today I keep getting timeouts or 'websites not found', or have to wait 5 min to retrieve a 50k email. That AVG scanner progress thingie just sits bottom right of my screen permanently, cos it never actually gets to stop scanning before the next 3 minute email check.

I also feel sorry for the analysts... surely they get bored or tired regurgitating the same old, same old over and over again. We've heard it all a 1000 times. Point is, bugger-all ever gets done. We know what the problems are - government do to, but nothing is done in order for us to have a net connection that (a) works, and (b) doesn't cost me a small fortune each month.

My gal and I are considering a move to Europe, this being just one of the reasons.
