Telecoms changes in SA in 2011

At Telkom they can change the frame but the picture remains the same! So not expecting anything positive for the benefit of the consumer from Hellkom

Looks as if we want anything to happen in this country we need the brains trust of Mweb and Cell C in the DOC and telkom ......

Wishful thinking my friend. There are only ever two options for making huge changes.

1) The rules of the game (e.g. DOC) are defined and you swim with the tide instead of trying to change its direction too much too soon. New blood becomes "Socialised" into the corporate DNA and fits in instead of making the changes they were hired to do. Its safer after all.

2) You decide not to play by the rules and cause violent shifts in the tide. Its a Fit-in-or-F-off mindset. The problem is that the rules are sometimes decided by PArliament in acts of law. The other problem is that if you don't carry your people with you there could be mass revolt and the houseof cards comes tumbling down.

From past experience EVERYONE starts at #2 and slowly migrates to #1. This usually happens after the first slam dunk of their bright new ideas.

So taking a freshwater corporate fish and putting them into government seawater hell really doesn't deliver good results.

Yup, I'm speaking from tons of past experience (gosh this reply sounds so fatalist.)
