Telkom’s uncapped ADSL abusers

Telkom says that only 1% of its total base of uncapped ADSL customers are abusing its network.

I honestly don't see why there is an insistence on equating an ISP stating that specific usage cases are heavy or such other notion with "abuse". I am yet to see any indication of Telkom Internet call users abusers on the basis of usage or anything for that matter. The tone of using a network other than as the ISP intends is abuse has been set by other large ISPs and to equate fair comment as to proportions of heavy users with the degrading (and frankly defamatory) statements of some ISPs is gravely problematic.

Good question. Especially considering the "PR" damage done to an ISP in ZA when they're accused of terming their high-end users "abusers."

Why then attribute the word to a company that, at least in this instance, refrained from using it?

Are they not paying their Telkom internet bills? If so why are they being subjected to different conditions than others as if they are paying half price

'Abusers' hey. Seems to be the theme on mybb news reports these days. That 1% of abusers. Damn them! Lynch them! Errrrr no. If you have usage limits how are they abusing your system?

I'm part of the 1%. **** them! Going to take my business elsewhere. Only downloaded 235gig on a 4mb line and getting limited which in layman's terms mean being cut off the internet. Not even Mweb is this bad. They should just GTFO from providing "uncapped" internet and GFT. The saix site to actually check my usage is so old and hideous it makes the MTN site look great and brilliant.

EDIT: downloaded 117gig on a 2mb line without a hiss or word from them. Now doing double that on a 4mb line they say I'm an abuser? Yeah right!
