Currently I'm running 382kb/s. Would like to know if it is worth upgrading to the new 1000 mark?

The 382 must be a new service.. last I heard Telkom was only offering 384

If you want 'fast' download speeds then the 1mbps would be a good option.. won't improve your ping though and its almost twice the price of 382/384

I also considered getting a 1Mbps line but then I realized that with such speed I would only get capped way sooner so whats the use?

1Mbps lines are i.m.o only really usefull for uncapped accounts.
