Got my 100Mb/s fibre installed a couple weeks ago and man it was flying like no SA born human has experienced before.
Fast forward a couple weeks...its dead. The thing is going slower and slower each week.

Ping after 5 o'clock is 400ms on average for any euro game server.
Browsing is slow as hell and videos are buffering on standard definition.
Websites are full of broken images.

I've contacted telkom and asked for a technician which was supposed to come last week but never did. I then contacted them again to cancel the entire thing but was refused on the basis of contract. They said that as long as my line was syncing and connecting on their side the service was acceptable and I had no grounds to cancel my contract.

Obviously I said this was rubbish and I'm planning to escalate it further with someone in a higher position.
Just thought I would let everyone know about this before they committed to a shiny chrome number on a contract.

Wait for a technician, it sounds like a fault, no need to jump the gun.

Tell them you use it for business purposes and you are loosing business because it's faulty.

which ISP are you using and what area are you in?

You get issues on DSL as well and lets no talk about wireless and weather etc.

Telkom have never been super quick to send out technicians when there are issues, fibre is fairly new so I do not think they have as many technicians available who are qualified to work on fibre (I might be wrong on this though) so it would make sense for it to possibly take a bit longer than usual as well.

Try drop TelkomZA a message on this forum, see if they can help speed up the process.
