i have been seeing thing around the forums
but how does it work, knowing telkom thers a huge catch

and how do i get the 25% off
atm i only got my do bundle 2 call package with 4mbps line with them
do i apply for the 25% off

if so i can upgrade my line to 10mbps and still pay R319 (425 with out the 25% off)
if so i think i may try to get it :D

Phone the Telkom Options centre (10210 - last option for cancellations). Tell them you want to cancel your service. They will offer a 25% discount to keep it. Ask them if they will apply the 25% discount if you upgrade instead.

I don't have a voice plan. After the upgrades, I downgrade the ADSL line from 4MB to 2MB. I was offered the 25% for a duration of 12 months.

For me I just phoned and asked for the 25% discount without saying anything or doing anything else.

nice,gonna try tonight
then upgrade to 10mbps :D

if they dont give me it in the 1st shot,i will try the cancellation thing :p

12month contract but for the 25% i can life with that,as i dont plan to move my adsl line anyways :P

It seems that it depends on which consultant you get.

I have asked them before and a lady almost shouted at me that they HAVE NEVER OFFERED discounts.

Then I downgraded and wasn't offered anything.

And they gave it to you?

Yes the contract was automatically put on the bill and the discount on the next invoice.

Did you phone the cancellation department or new services, they even offered it to my client when I was getting an adsl line installed for him.

First ask them if you qualify for the 25% discount. They will check to make sure you don't have any existing contracts with them (eg you took a "free" modem that is still in its contract period")

If they say yes, then tell them you want to upgrade to 10Mbps and have the 25% discount applied to it. They will explain how it works.

If they say no, hang up and phone again.

I do not know how the upgrading of 25% discount package works but last time I upgraded I was only 4 months from ending a 12 months contract "with a free modem" and got nailed R600 cancellation fees. The modem was only worth R500.

They kept my modem contract running for last 4 months while the 25% discount got added not sure why yours got cancelled and theres no minimum time as my friend got it on a new adsl line.

I applied for the R399(25% discount) deal for analogues and 2MB ADSL line rental including 10GB data with 200mb dongle and free wifi modem. This is a month to month contract. Apparently the discount is for the bundle and not if you only want the lines .

For R644pm I got the line installation, 200mb dongle, free wifi modem and 4mb uncapped month to month...

What they do is apply the discount to the most expensive bundle and not an individual line item. In my case its a Do Broadband bundle but for some others its their closer plan.
