So we've had a Telkom line for years now and received our data from Mweb ( 4mbps uncapped).
In last year December, my uncle decided to upgrade the line to a 10Mbps capped line from Mweb but at the same time he agreed to having Mweb manage the line for us as well.
We been waiting for the holding period since last year and just yesterday our net was disconnected.
We thought this was part of the procedure but now it turns out Telkom "accidentally" terminated the line completely.
So what i wanted to ask was how long would this take? What do we do to get our net up and running?

Luck of the draw.
Should be +- 7 -21 days. {Cant find the reference for this now.}
It could be months.

Ensure you always keep the line with the infrastructure owner.
Put differently, you should not have Mweb order the line and DSL connection.
Pay Telkom for the line and DSL connection, pay Mweb for the data.

Has the same problem....Telkom line stolen too often. Went with Mweb LTE deal December. They used CellC. No signal after 3 weeks then router packed up.
Thet would/could not replace it or fix it.
Went rather with MTN deal.
Mweb cancelled deal BUT cut off my emails as well in error.
They cannot get emails on again !!!!
No pop3 or something ????
Had all the call backs
I can send mail but not recieve ?

Re Dunkyd.

Never use an ISP`s email services.
The longer you keep using the ISP`s email address the bigger the problem.

Do use:
a. One of the big well established mail service providers such as Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, GMX etc.
b. Even better, buy your own domain, say cat1234.co.za, then use [email protected].
The back end can be held with whatever provider you prefer.

See it as a lucky break - plenty people can't get Telkom to terminate their account no matter how hard they try :-)

Upgrade to fibre opportunity!

How do I move and keep same address ?
A business address for clients in Africa. If I change it would be a disaster maybe ?.
Mweb host my tiny website 1 page jobby too.

Re, Dunkyd,

We are a bit guilty now as we discuss something not related to "IsmaeelBehardien" original question.

Two options I think,
a. Create a new thread/ question/ post with the question as Title.
b. PM me or Skype me. I use the same name in Skype.
