Hi, I need help if anyone has any idea or advice on the following:

My Uncle has a contract with Telkom which gives him 10GB data for daytime use. He is 88 so he uses minimum data, but the last few months he has been out of bundle by the middle of the month.

He now lives next door to us so when his data runs out I take over our Vodacom router for him. On his Telkom bundle he has a fixed line number, when I take our router over his Windows PC won't connect via our router unless I switch off his Telkom router. If I switch off the Telkom router then he has no fixed line. How do I get his PC to work on my router while his Telkom router is still on? His iPhone works with both routers being on, but his PC won't.

Any assistance will really be appreciated.

How does the pc connect to the router - wifi or cable? If wifi then what happens when you connect to the Vodacom router? Not easier to upgrade his package / get fiber?

Hi, thanks for your reply, upgrading his package would be my first option, but my Aunt only knows how to use the old Telkom phone, not a cellphone so that is why he keeps the fixed line package with Telkom. As far as I know he connects the Telkom router with an ethernet cable and my router is wifi. His PC connects to my Vodacom router, but if you go to google then it says there is no internet connection.

Windows PC? What version?

Ah, routing tables. The joy.

I would just disable/plug out the lan cable from his PC to his router. Can even be scripted.

What version of windows are we running?

thanks, I'll give that a try, as long as the phone still works that will be great :)

Sounds like it might be an IP related issue on your router side or a network setting on his PC.

In Windows try run the network troubleshooter

Your aunt could look at something like this and then get better internet. Telkom is anyways busy disconnecting all fixed lines.
