I don’t know if I missed a thread or a communication from Telkom but I see on this month’s ADSL account the discount has been removed.

I was just wondering if anyone else also have this discount amount removed from their account?

ADSL: Telkom
ISP: Telkom

Yes, I cannot find the thread now, but TelkomZA stated that the discount was removed and they communicated this to us VIA the Do.co.za website. They also sapposedly communicated this to us a few months back via email and SMS but I call lies, as I never received anything on this.

Thanks. Well that's a good surprise.

Thanks TelkomZA

I've heard about this, but this is my April statement:
Code:
Subscription Services R618.42
Usage R160.20
[B]Discounts R120.17 CR[/B]
Then a little lower down:
Code:
Discount
Discount Plan Ref No Discount Amount
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
TOC DO Broadband 25% R120.17 CR
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Subtotal R120.17 CR
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Contracts (taxable)
Description Ref No Period Cost
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Contract term CT001034037 4 of 12 months R0.00

So is it only removed for some people?

That is a load of crap.
I check my mails every other day, I've seen nothing.
And in all honesty why would anyone check do.co.za for updates when Telkom communicates to us through our mails.

I was getting a discount of R178.73 now I am getting the same R120.17 as you.

How did you guys get these discounts in the first place? are you on contracts?

My discount was R78 and now reduced to R0.

Why has some of you still has this discount and others don't have it anymore. What is the difference?

Can TELKOMZA give some clarity on this?

Same here, i had a bundle discount of just under a hundred rand... now gone. The discount was for having both the line and ISP as telkom.

Yip, previous months I had two discount amounts: "DO Uncapped Premium Plus Bundl" and "TOC DO Broadband"

and now I just get a "TOC DO Broadband" discount :(

EDIT: Yes it's the 12 month thing

Mine is not a contract, its just the discount for using a telkom do bundle (line plus ISP)

I used to get a discount for adsl bundle, it's also gone for me. It was I think R78 discount for the 4mbps uncapped bundle?

Ye its great. They take the discount or part of it away. But your still in a contract. And even if you don't think you are. look again on your bill for the 'Contract term' section  luckily i only have 2 months left.

I will say it again, I never signed a contract.
If telkom plan on holding me to a non-existent contract then they can try.
Not that I'm leaving considering the pricing is well below other ISPs.

U don't have to literally sign a contract. It's a verbal contract. You agreeing to a 12 month contract over phone which is the pre-requisite for the discount means you are in a contract.

I never agreed to anything I even specifically told the lady over the phone that I will not enter into any form of contract.
The call is recorded.

I made sure to cover myself in this regard making all the statements needed.

Yeah then surely Telkom breached their own terms? I never signed a contract but "agreed" to a discount for a 12 month term telephonically. Surely they can't just pull the discount now.

Fair enough. I'd just check my bill for that section just incase, if i was you :)
