Is there a telkom rep on here as I have also got an issue and seems like that the call centre can not fix it

I'm not debating your points, don't misinterpret my response.
I agree with what you're saying in principle.
However, the law does not work the way Telkom would like to fabricate.
If I don't sign a contract and specifically ask to not be on a contract then it is illegal for telkom to place me on a contract.
My account says I am in a contract, no debating that.
I don't however care as I stated above.
If I decided to cancel I would do it and Telkom would have no leg to stand on.

I have discussed this at length with a state prosecutor family member.
You have got very valid points. And I agree with you. You are lucky in that case as you have a voice recording of you not agreeing to the contract. You should actually try and get the reference number if you ever needed it.
I have done everything in my power to release myself of this devils contract, but Telkom has ignored are cries for help. No amount of TelkomZA nor HelloPeter has gotten a budge out of them. They want their moneys worth. I learnt the lesson the hard way. However like i said, I only have 2 months left so I will feed the demon for a little while longer and then take my business elsewhere

Nope, Telkom sets the terms quite clear. There is no paper work involved. It's the same if you sign up for a new cellphone contract with Cell C over the phone. Its a verbal contract, thus it is indicated as a contract in your monthly statement. 
I doubt they can pull the discount, but I am sure they have protected themselves in such a way that they can alter the discount amount.

The point he's making though is that the discount was provisioned on the basis of taking a contract.
If they remove the discount then the contract should fall away.

Is the key words. Whether it will, now that is the part we all know the answer to.
And taking them on about it, I wouldn't try as its merely impossible to get them to cancel a contract.

I've been known to fight these things like a rabid dog.
Telkom Mobile tried to charge me R199 for cancelling 'late' as they put it.
I fought it until I got a refund.
Even though I had technically cancelled late.
The lady at the walk-in center skrewed up but there was no proof of it.
I just fought it knowing that I was right.
Maybe I was lucky but I always believe there's a way to solve these issues if you know your legal standing and stand by it.

Ye its great. They take the discount or part of it away. But your still in a contract. And even if you don't think you are. look again on your bill for the 'Contract term' sectionluckily i only have 2 months left.
I have looked at my April bill again and previous bills and don't see any 'Contract term' section. Could it be that I missed it?

Do you receive the discount?
Yes I did receive a discount (R78) up to the end of March but from April it is gone. Here is the March bill with the discount:

Its not a binding contract FFS!
You agree not to cancel your subscription for a period of 12 months, because of that Telkom agrees to give you 25% discount for those 12 months. As soon as you cancel, you have to pay back all the 25% discounts they have given you.
End of story.

Except both of you are winning. Unlike binding contracts where you're legally not allowed to cancel (which changed recently because of the CPA)Duh. Thus, its a contract.
