Telkom admits customer challenges

Ntoele said Telkom now seeks to communicate with its customers more and participate in forums where customers can voice their complaints.

Well they've got how many years of MyADSL and Hellkom to catch up on?

We have to come out of the ivory tower and spend a day in the life of our customer

Hey Godfrey! Try getting through to Telkom to get your line fixed. That should take about a day... :D

They're participating in forums? Think he's reading this?

Please dial a support line and listen to the boring music for a day...

Time to change your tune Telkom!

Even better, ensure it is not needed to listen to that damned music.

Hi folks

I have just contacted Telkom regarding their participation in public forums where they will participate and hear what customers have to say. Unfortunately they could not comment immediately as they needed to clarify what this participation means and what Mr. Ntoele said. They promised feedback by 3pm today… Article to follow :D

Regards,

RPM

Expect some shocking developments with regard VOIP by Telkom in future. This communicator proggy might well be the beginning of some process through which Telkom will find reason to cripple other voip proggies like SKype. Watch them with eagle eyes! I don't trust these prats with something like open and fair Internet access...

I can already see Telkom saying things like "Use our communicator. Free VOIP calls inside SA but if you want to call overseas, use a landline... it is better..." wink wink...

Isn't it funny how Telkom always ruin their customer relations efforts by protecting their pricing. THE PRICE OF TELKOM SERVICES IS A LARGE PART OF OUR GRIPE YOU WINGNUTS!!!!

Two points:

1. PRICE is the MAJOR thing we fight
2. TELKOM SERVICES is an impossibility, so we can't fight it :D

He said migration to VOIP is controlled by the clear understanding that “the quality of the calls through VOIP is questionable”.
Only if they control it to be that way. Maybe they won't even bother crippling other voip solutions - cripple all voip including their own and just tell people how poor quality voip is.

They will probably contract it out to a call centre company A LA Telkom way of doing things to give You a run around. We can't even communicate to Telkom via their own structure
