TELKOM ADSL DATA - Cancellations

Hi all

I have exhausted any rational attempts to cancel the data portion of my TELKOM ADSL line. Last year March i tried there uncapped service for 5 days and it was so CRAP that i just switched back to AXXESS which i have been using ever since!

There is no USAGE on the TELKOM ADSL account ever since. (Confirmed by TELKOM Accounts). However i for the life of me cannot get this CANCELED and i am getting billed every month for it!

1) I have been transferred from accounts...to there NONEXISTENT ...cancellations department! (4 hours on hold and NOTHING) i have lost count of how many time i have gone around in this circle!

2) Gone in to TELKOM themselves only to be asked to call... 10210 from there store... and i was then asked to leave because they closing... having been on hold for about 3 hours on a Saturday.

3) Emailed numerous TELKOM email address all given to me by TELKOM accounts... with no result!

4) Have DIRECTLY call 10210 and held on for about 5 hours ...from my OFFICE ... Yes i called and went on with my work blocking my incoming line and forgetting that i had been on hold.... only to check my line a few hours later when my receptionist said "Why can't i transfer calls to you" ... and yes ... i was still on hold!

What the hell am i supposed to do!... Accounts dept said they will credit my account ...but i need to CANCEL ADSL data service first...

WTF?... is this Physiological warfare!

Doesn't sound like you actually cancelled but just stopped using the data service?

I managed to get through to cancellations to cancel my data the week before last and I have my reference number. My data is supposed to be cancelled on the 16 March... so lets see how that goes. But I did call again the next day and the agent could see that someone had logged the cancellation.

Both times I called cancellations I held for about 15-20mins and was assisted. Maybe I was just lucky...
 
I have record it a few times with my phone...audio and all..... just because of this argument!

But i will try again Tommorrow morning and record that as well.... then i will post these videos to YouTube ...!
 
Did you cancel and get a reference number before?
 
Nope ..i did not even get through... thats my point...

I cannot imagine you got though in 20mins!
 
Oh ok, Ya seems like Telkom call centre is very hit and miss (mostly miss)... Afaik, the call centre is the only way to do the canccellations, I tried to go to a Telkom shop and the guy said they could not do it from there and the guy referred me to the call centre. But just try again. Good luck with that!
 
I feel your pain. Telkom's service is beyond pathetic. I have no idea what those in charge at Telkom are doing but the first chance I get to leave them for a fibre provider in my area I am ripping every piece of Telkom copper that connects me to an exchange and melting it down into something symbolic of freedom.
