Telkom ADSL performance indicators

Should give those international figures to blizzard followed by... "Now you see why we make illegal servers... because international latency is nonsense" :D

When my ADSL line goes down I experience a 100% packet loss and infinite latency.

where three values are given as 0.00 ms and the average minimum local latency is 1.89 ms

hahahahah - I'm on a gigabit network at work and I don't even get those figures!

Chinese maths again. Telkom are so full of BS. Do they really think people will believe those figures!

An average international latency of 279 ms and a maximum international latency of 3285 ms

Paaaathetic! Have you ever tried to transfer like a 1MB file over a line with a latency of 1000ms let alone 3285ms!!!:sick:

Im more disgusted by how ISP's dont give out their own figures. They are worse than telkom, because telkom actually give out some info.

I would really like to see Cybersmarts average latency. Its probably something like 80ms.

.. and as usual ICASA does bugger all about compliance or clarification.

Beats the ass out of everything else we consumers can get, regardless of how kuk it looks.

An average international latency of 279 ms and a maximum international latency of 3285 ms

they must have tested these on unshapped lines or better, normal accounts wont ever get latency like this

With stats like those, they may as well make them up (not that they possibly didn't) because a range of packet loss between 0% and 95% is so vast that no one has any idea whether it's working or not.

Why do these results need to be quarterly? They should be automated/scripted and published daily with trends to show how connectivity during the day goes tits up and is Ok at night, if still as slow as all hell.

This isn't really higher grade, however, if they published this type of info consistently and regularly, they might actually have to do something about it, and that would never do for the fat cats who claim it's all working as it should.
