Anyone getting slow speeds on a 4mb line? my line sync at 4mb but speedtest.net says its a 512kb line

Sssh don't say that to loud or you'll end up with 56k dialup speeds.

Sorry I'm not being very helpful, I don't have a 4Mb line, I have a 384K line going at 7K when I'm lucky, YaY.

What does speedtest.net normally say, and how are local downloads just to make sure it isn't actually your line but rather international bandwidth. Which you can't do anything about really..

512Kb ?

Luxury!

My 4Mb line seldom sees more than 300Kb. It's driving me nuts.

tillskim is useless.

Local is full speed, international is EXTREMELY Slow. What is the internet really without international bandwith? is it really the INTERNET???

Ja, that usually means SAIX or IS (which ISP/package are you using?) are having problems with international.

IS is known to be having problems right now, apparently upgrading.

There was a post about this last week, myself and a few others had the same problem....around the 20th last month my line still connected at 4096 but could not dl anything faster than 54k per sec. It is still like that. And no one on the forum as any idea why the lines are doing this. Mine was tested across all packages, IS and SAIX. Same Result.

430k/sec down to 50 odd K per sec....like driving a ferrari with a beach buggy engine.

:(
