Telkom and Icasa

Well, we will simply have to see what will happen in the future. It seems that Icasa is Telkom's lapdog and that should Tekom choose to, they will ignore any ruling that Icasa makes. Telkom has become such an arrogant little company that they will simply refuse to suppy broadband services than comply with the rulings of Icasa. The idiots running Telkom, you know, all those idiots with standard 6 and maths, they think they can do as they wish. Here we have a group of people who are not qualified to drive a car but they are running a company. They highest qualified person in Telkom is the CEO's P.A. She at least has Mavis-Beacon-Teaches-Typing. What I'm trying to say is that to get Telkom facing and heading in the right direction, we would need to install new management. The current management can barely speak english, nevermind all the technical jargon that they do not even know. Everytime somebody says something against gold-plated Telkom, telkom tries to suspend whatever service that person may have. What a joke. The international telecommunications companies are having a good time just laughing at Telkom. Such a insignificant company trying its best to get away with murder, I mean they supply broadband, but the service is so bad, you can just as well go to dial-up. Shame. And do not try to take up any technical questions with Telkom, because on entering their offices, you are greeted by an array of people eager to help you in 9 of South Africa's official languages, english and afrikaans excluded. I'm not being racist, I'm just an intellectualist, I hate dumb people. Up until the time that we burn down Telkom, we will never see any change in policy. They even threatened to stop their broadband services if they were presurized to much. Typical African business way of doing things. If you are told to do something, don't!. No wonder nothing spectacular has ever come from this continent. Don't mention all these Nobel peace prize winners to me. I'm talking about real innovation. As for the whole bandwidth saga in SA, we will not see any change up until we can find a way around Telkom. Luckily their monopoly has expired so we can safely use VoIP now. It gives me such immense pleasure to make calls to my friends overseas and not give Telkom one cent! Be still my heart. The only problem is that at only 50c per megabyte, Virgin's internet is not the fastest around, but it work for me. Sir Richard Branson, I salute you!
