Telkom and Fifa 2010

While I'm struggling these past few days to open websites, local and international, I can't stop thinking on how Telkom is going to get it right to handle all the data that will be going through their network next year during the Fifa World Cup.

I actually feel sorry for them.:p:rolleyes:
 
Telkom has upgraded their network massively for FIFA, I wish I knew more about how much they upgraded the links by .

Had a brief chat to a Telkom IPnet employee and he said they are ready for the demands that FIFA will put on the network

As long as you are man enough to apologise to them in around 300 days after they have handled all the FIFA and fans requirements!

NO -- I want to thank them NOW -- for handling MY CURRENT requirements:)

ie. PLEASE lets have those cap and price cuts NOW before 2010 :cool:

Looks like you don't have much of a clue about the FIFA bandwidth requirements....
 
I am sure it amounts to Terabit/sec links between major centers, streaming video + plenty journalists = mega connections
 
I have to add. Telkom layed kilometeres of fiber. You see the TLB with the orange pipes laying them everywhere. This actually impressed me.

But all that fiber is useless if prices don't go down!

FIFA president needs to complain about the high prices and maybe our President will do something about it!
 
It doesn't feel like they are ready at all, the network is extremely slow. Tourist come here form Germany and expect 25 Mbps line (they got a hope). Personally I think they are not ready no matter what they say on TV. Altough I have never seen any fiber here in CT, (maybe I haven't been out much)
