Does anyone know if Telkom has a problem with the French service provider Orange?

Emails sent on my Port Elizabeth Telkom line from a user with an Orange email account using Telkom's smtp, get rejected with an error code that indicates a black listing. No problem with his incoming email.
Another user, this time in Cape Town using Orange's webmail service but from a Telkom ADSL line, can receive mail but not send.

Are you a Telkom Internet subscriber? If so, are you authenticating with their SMTP server?

Typically one should use the SMTP server of the email provider, and not that of your ISP or 3rd party providers. Otherwise you will run into these types of issues, which are put into place to prevent abuse and spam. So if the email account is from Orange, you should use Orange's own SMTP servers, and authenticate with the SMTP server using the same credentials used to download mail from their POP/IMAP servers.

Thanks for the response but the Cape Town user is not using a mail pop3 client like Outlook or Thunderbird, he is connecting to the web mail page provided by Orange with his browser and no smtp is required for sending email via a web email client.
If I am sending an email from my home (I use Telkom) from a user that has a pop3 Mweb email account, I have to change the user's smtp to Telkom's smtp. If I use his existing settings (Mweb smtp) it won't send. Likewise if I take my laptop to a site where Mweb it the ISP, I would have to change my smtp to smtp.mweb.co.za This is understandable but it doesn't work with Orange as the SP. A user with an Orange pop3 account can send from a Mweb location providing they change the smtp to smtp.mweb.co.za. However the same is not true for Telkom.
