For some reason every time I quickly see the title to this thread I read "Telkom are M0rmons". The first time I read it I actually thought it was really weird that Telkom was being compared to a religious group,...

They not M0rmons, but they are a cult. Definately from the dark side of religion...

Just to add in my 2 cents..

I had a Telkom Internet account with my 56K which was promptly cancelled 1 1/2 years ago when I got ISDN. I spoke to a friend whom I let use the account only to find out that he was still using it up until the beginning of the year.

No bills tho' so screw em!! ha!

Guess it works for companies that way it works for people sometimes:

I often wonder if it's not just a ploy on Telscum's side to try and hang on to some revenue. I'm sure their ISP customers must be leaving in droves to ISP's like Axxess, etc. Seeing that Telscum have not yet figured out what the meaning of good service and product is, they cannot compete with REAL ISP's, as far as their offerings go. So to try and scoop the last few handfulls they either purposely employ bumbling idiots or instruct the submissive employee to screw up all cancellations. Thereby getting extra dosh on cancelled accounts.

Eish, please can't someone FIRE TELKOM!!!

stoke, if you cancelled in writing and they keep billing you, they're defrauding you, in which case you have the right not to pay. If you remind them that you can take legal actuion against them, they usually wake up quickly and sort out your bill.

Just make sure you keep written records of every thing and take down the names of every one you talk to, as well as the date and time.

When you phone, telling the orc on the other end of the line that *you* are recording the call for legal purposes also helps them focus...
