Right lol I'm hoping somebody can explain something to me.

On the 19th October my line was installed. I did the self install, and got installation and modem free.

Next, I'm on an uncapped 2mb Line at R589.

My bill came today, and it's R1089. Basically I got a pro rata amount of R500.

My question is this, for less than 2 weeks, is the pro rata correct? Surely that amount can't be right. Im on the weekend package in terms of calls, so the after 7pm and free on weekends thing.

I'm nearly billed double for about 2 weeks of use. My bill cycle ended on the 8th Novemeber, but when should we look at calender month or when my account closed off?

Normally when pro rata comes into play, it's normally a reduced amount, based on when something is activated, and how many days left within that month. So I'm rather confused right now, as one would have assumed it would have been around R300-R350 based on when the line was activated
 
Not always. Check the billing dates on the actual invoice itself. Telkom sometimes does Pro-rata, but not on all packages/products and services. Fixed line is generally done on a month-to-month from install date. Mine was done on the 18th, so billing runs 19th to 18th monthly. That could be the reason for there not being a pro-rata amount.
 
okay, how does Telkom Bill you 2 weeks prior to when you had the service installed? i have my invoice, and i was billed on the 5th October, but my line and activation only happed on the 19th October? Do they bill you for the day you signed up? lol its not funny, but ill rather just laugh as i dont have a clue how this works.
 
Don't think they pro-rata uncapped data accounts, only line & ADSL rental IIRC. Not sure how this impacts bundles though - are the data & ADSL rental separate line items?
 
no its a bundle Mick, but i dont understand how im charged for a service, 2 weeks prior to the line being installed. That means i never had a full month, yet charged for a full month. so its not seperate, but its a bundle 2mb + uuncapped + voice line

... this is what my line items look like, if your pro-rata month start date is prior to the actual date the line was installed I'd ask 10210 for a credit. From past experience Telkom are pretty good in this regard.
