Telkom Boycott?

One way to get ourselves heard and to inform lots of other listeners about Telkom's wrong doing is to call our local talk radio during open line.( Cape Talk, 702). It costs nothing. One way to educate masses.
 How so? Is it a toll-free number?

I would if I could afford it, but right now it would mean no internet (which is my means of making money) - I don't think it's possible.

There's no way an effective boycott would work against Telkom - too much money would be lost.

for me Telephone and Internet are my only means of having contact to the outside world. But I will join if anything is planned....

Boycott telkom!

This probably amounts to Vodacom as well! By the general reaction here, some people think there is no life without Telkom. I suggest getting an mtn phone with modem capabilities & gprs for the 'net. Not using ADSL won't help. Lets pull this off - I'll be fine for the full duration, those with sw-boards might not... lets do all we can at least. As suggested earlier... try getting out of the house or another hobby... nothing like change!

heh...

I would love to join in and cancel my TELKOM ADSL but like bb_matt the internet is my bread and butter. Most of my work is overseas and I dont think my clients would accept protesting as a reasonable excuse for not getting the job done. Unfortunately there arent any other effective means of accessing the internet in my area :(

That being said I'd be more than willing to lend my pen to any written campaigns.

I'm actively boikotting Telkom at the moment.

We moved offices, anf Telkom can't move the lines without many months of notice.

Funny thing is that the building owner had no probs in getting everthing ready, the alarm people had no problems getting the alarm installed, and we had no problems getting a removal company - all with LESS notice time that Telkom.

We suspected Telkom would not play the ball, and therefore gave them the longest notice possible.
