Telkom call holding

Hi

Sorry not 100% the correct sub forum.

I have an odd problem. Telkom seem to have enabled services on our line.

I have managed to disable call waiting after two weeks of irritation. Now I have another one.

When the Landline is returned to the hook, my cellphone says call placed on hold. If I pick up the receiver the call us still there and my cell says call retrieved.

I am not sure what service this is but it's driving me dilly.

Does anyone know the code to dial to disable?

No I don't. I think your landline might be faulty, it should not be flashing the line when you hang up. But regardless, try finding the code to disable 3 way calling.
 
I also think it might be fault, but try explaining it to them lol

Seems I've got the identical problem. Like you I also had call waiting disabled on my landline, a "feature" that just magically appeared early this year and was very annoying. I've just tested from TM & MTN with the same "call held" message on my cellphone when hanging up the landline and "call retrieved" when trying to make a new call.

I've sent TelkomZA a PM and hopefully they can identify and resolve the problem.

When the handset has been placed back on hook for more than 30 seconds, the call is disconnected, whether or not the calling party is holding the call.

Telkom Plus services offer a user guide with the commands
 
thanks bud, seems #66# disables. Think is we like voice-mail on the phone

Sorry I didn't mean your actual line was faulty, I meant the handset is faulty. I used to have the same problem with some phones, but not with others. Some phones seem to flash the line instead of hanging up properly. But disabling call waiting & 3 way calling should fix it.

Thanks, not the handset as it happens on both my cordless and corded I phone
