Its pretty simple at the moment. Telkom is going around lying to every single journalist they can get their grubby little paws on.

Any journalist who listens to the 'recoup the cost' bull that theyre spewing out, really needs their heads checked.

Lets look at this simply:

John host a website in south africa, so he has to pay for hosting. Who gets money? Telkom!!!

Mark wants to visit Johns website. So he uses his ADSL. However, he gets to pay Telkom TWICE!!!

Once for the infamous 'Line Rental' and one for the bandwidth been supplied. So Telkom gets paid 3 times for 1 site visit. Goooo telkom!

Well telkom... if you cant handle the fixed line ADSL offering (which it appears you are unable to), then prehaps you should move over for a company who can (there are lots of them all over the world who can... and in poorer countries).

So Telkom. PLEASE STOP LYING!!!!!

The recoup expenses excuse is really a very lame one anyway if you ask me. Since the launch of ADSL in South Africa back in 2003 (?) they've made around 13.134bn in profit! If they invested R1bn in their ADSL network like Mr White himself says, then they could easily have covered it 13 times over with profit alone.

where do i get the report that tells me how much profit telkom makes?
did mr white tells everyone that?
got a link?
