Telkom Cap vs Web Africa Cap

Yes, thats my whole point Dean!

How come Web Africa only lasts a few days where as Telkom's 2GB almost lasts a full month?

Telkoms 2 gb is actually 3 gigs, its always been that much. So a telkom gig is lasting you around 7.6 days.

Are you sure its really only lasting you exactly 3 days, and not maybe 5. Another factor may be that your webafrica topups could be landing on weekends rather than week days, and so your usage is going up without you realizing it.

Perhaps you should install netlimiter during your webafrica 1 gig period. That way you can see how much data you are using. If they short changing you it would be nice to know.

Hi Cantera,

It troubles me to hear that you are having issues with our ADSL services. I see that you have quite a few good responses from some MyBB users, however I would like to bring some other aspects up that may be the reason to your cap being depleted in such a short amount of time.

With regards to your Telkom Bandwidth (although I am not 100% sure about figures) but generally you get X amount of GB's of local only bandwidth which takes effect only after you have depleted your international bandwidth. This could perhaps be the issue?

Although I have never come across this, our bandwidth monitoring application may be reporting the incorrect bandwidth readings. If this is the case, the relevant measures will be taken on our end.
Would you perhaps mind PM'ing me your client code and ADSL account in question so I can investigate this further? Also, through our DSL Console, it will also allow both you and I to see how many concurrent connections are active at the moment. If we do find that someone has gained access to your account we can enable DSLSecure for you, which only enables one concurrent connection to your line only.

If we do discover that bandwidth theft is occuring, you will need to open a subpoena made out in the name against Telkom SA Ltd. On the Sec 205 you may request the following

- The telephone numbers used to access the ADSL platform with the username username@wadsl

- The registered owner details of the identified telephone numbers; and

- the physical installation addresses of the identified telephone numbers.

Once the Sec 205 has been issued, the Police Officer needs to hand the Sec 205 to their Technical Support Unit for delivery upon Telkom SA Ltd.

I hope this response proves useful. I will look forward to your PM with your Web Africa client details
