Normal user
I am a normal kind of Joe. I date to back before we had phones in our houses. I moved with the times many decades ago and got a phone in my house! Progress!!!!
Then dammit, these mobile thingies came in round about the 19?? something or other. Like a half-brick in your pocket! Great for self-defense! just gooi dit at the bastards and watch them run. Ja, we went this way too. Lekker safe it was. For a while! Watch the 9 mils now - these okes have taken all the cop's 9 mils to sort you out!
Now, we try to get communication from the house out and back. We even try to get all our kids online (4 kids computers with ethernet cables tripping us up every time we rush to the loo). Immodium has nothing on us - sharp eyes in the darkness stops tripping and banging heads on walls. Hey, I see on this forum that there's this thingy called wireless to get rid of the cables.
No 5 star rating for safety here!!! We need wireless! Now my old man, long departed, he used to talk about wireless. But I don't think it was the same thing. It was when something called FM started a long time ago. Clear as a bell.
Hey, talking about clear as a bell, we got 4 extensions (4 kids, you know) and each extension tells me that we all have to go to the doc to have our ears tested - we can't hear a **** what the other folks are saying! Maybe, just maybe, the guys at Telskum are not what they say they are - right on top of things. Since this new thingy, Closer opinion 5, has come into our house, our hearing has gone down the toilet. I suspect this because we only empty our lekker new wheelies once a week, but we flush the toilets at least once a day whether we have to or not. We still can't hear!!!!!!
The okes on the call-centres tuned me (that dates me well into the last millenium) that some ou is going to start checking out my connection and maybe, just maybe, find out what ou has stuffed up something and fix it quickly before the bosses find out.
Hey, but with job preservation and all that good ****, who can get fired these days. In the old days it used to be job reservation! What a difference a "pre" makes! I could almost burst into song, except the only way I can carry a tune is in a wheelbarrow. Maybe one of those new bakkies with a bumper sticker - cool I 4 x 4. Have you seen them on the roads? My agricultural engineer, (weekly gardener) tells me that this is not PC! And I thought PC was personal computer.
But hey, man my kids hate this expression, hey - Damn it, I hate it when Bacchus, the god of wine deserts me in the midst of my creative flow. Thank goodness (calm hey?) for spell-checkers! They make us feel good when everything is collapsing in a heap of smelly **** on top of us.
Economies and reversal of fortunes and rain-bow-nationness make box vintage fruit-of-the-vine viable, nay, enjoyable.
What modem/router do you use?
It doesn't matter, as long as it is not a Marconi from the ogre.
What filter do you use?
I can't get anything except Marconi from the ogre.
Does the Ogre have an agreement with Marconi set up to screw the consumer?
No, Telskum simply applies the BOHICA syndrome Bend Over Here It Comes Again!
Or "It is wrong not to part a fool from his money"!!!!!
Because of lack of competition, you and I, the fools, are parted from our money.
The Government, regardless of Mbeki's utterances, will do nothing to solve the Internet Impasse.
Not because of not wanting to do it - But because of not knowing how to do it. Ask the honkies? Not a **** - this acknowledges defeat!
Grow up all you wonderkinde, defeat is when we all get nowhere fast.
Victory is when we all work together to get out of this total screw-out where we are today.
In order to get things done and improve matters in all respects in this wonderful country of ours, we have to pose questions which require honest answers which will not be given as long as the power-that-be have holes in their asses.
I earnestly believe that this is the problem,
Can it ever be solved?
Hot stuff, this box vintage - In vino veritas!
