Telkom Closer question

Since I got my ADSL connection about 2 months ago...I also got Closer option 2. We get free landline calls up to an hour during CallMore time.

My question is:
Can I call a number, hang up after 59 minutes, and call it back and not be charged for the second call as well? A friend told me that you can only call a certain number once a day to get the call for free.

Could someone please englighten me on this?

I always hang up and redial after 50 or so minutes and it's never charged me...

You can - Telkom even states you can do so on their website AFAIK.

After my friend told me that I will be charged for the second call....I call the Telkom Support Centre to try to confirm. They told me that I will be charged for the second call. They must be confused (as usual) if it says the second call is free on the website.

If you got dsl and the closer option 2 why not got for the closer plan 4 or 5 that includes dsl you will save your self some buxx

ISP - R125 for 3GB
Telkom - R245
Closer - R135

Total of R515 for 3GB per month.

I see Closer Option 4 is R499, which is R15 cheaper and has the 1000 free peak time minutes. Does the R499 include the ISP charges? If so, how much bandwidth do you get?

No it doesnt include the ISP charges...

Ye i wasnt aware that you could get 3gigs for 125rand...

I see why it will work out cheaper for us atm.. cuz we have 2 x telkom lines so i have to pay 2 x 100 line rent..

Just FYI, Cybersmart has a 3GB line (384K) for R125. Used to be R100 when there was a 192K service from Telkom.
