Hi,

Ok I am exceptionally confused here.

I moved into an new apartment and got my line installed....that was ANOTHER unnecessary complication and a story for another time.

The Technician checked the line and said I can get 10megs. So I ordered a 10 meg line but was told that the system says only 4megs. The technician argued with the contact center and then said no problem you will get 10 megs.

Number is 021 - 433 xxxxx

I signed up with Axxess and they could only get 4 megs from Telkom (I moved my line to Axxess). Telkoms online check says 4 megs but Broadband Stats says 10 megs.

I would love 10 megs if possible......well once Telkom comes and fixes my line as they, somehow, crossed my line with a prepaid line belonging to someone else and they will fix that issue when they get to it according to the Call Center.

1. Always leave your line with Telkom.
2. If your line was with Telkom you could contact the call centre till you found a not retarded agent and ask them to put you on 10megs.

please post your line stats , that you can get from adsl modem , normally under the status page.

If your line is syncing at 4096/512k , you still have old exchange and can not get 10mps.

If it is syncing at 4095/507 , you should be able to get 10mps , depending how far you are.

Is that like Bigfoot?

Jokes: I have chatted to some really good people there. Unfortunately they are out numbered.

Thanks will do it and post as soon as my Prepaid / Contract / Dual line issues are fixed.

There's your issue.

Telkom's systems will say that your area is only allowed 4meg even though the technician knows for a fact it's allowed 10 meg. this is something on their systems, and can't be changed unless you escalate this issue with telkom several times.

I had the same issue where I had a 4meg line, downgraded, wanted to upgrade again, and got told my area wasn't suitable for 4meg.

Also, ALWAYS LEAVE YOUR LINE WITH TELKOM

My line is syncing at 4092/511, line attenuation at 14db and noise level 28db, I've spoken to a few call centre agents and they always say I can only get 4mb. Am I wrong to assume with these stats that they are wrong? My line is also syncing at ADSL2+.

Once your line is running 4M, phone Telkom and ask them to upgrade it to 10M.
It will not change your line rental or anything.
Go figure???

Your line is good to go for 10meg:
SNR/ATT: Check
ADSL2+ Sync: Check.

Keep on calling them :D

Currently synching at 4096/512, line attenuation at 13db and noise level 23db.

But hey if that is me or not we don't know as my line is still crossed with a person on Prepaid.

Could you provide us with both the upstream and downstream values, and not just the ones for 1 direction?
