Okay so i was in a Telkom store. spoke to one of the guys there, and he basically said that i should take a 4MB line as a 2MB line would be no good for streaming content.

Now this is what is confusing the hell out of me.

I can get Voice, ADSL, Router and uncapped data throttled at 100GB on a 2MB line for 599. or the 4MB line at 799

now my needs are basically streaming in SD and nothing else. Is the guy correct in saying that, or is he just being a consultant trying to sweeten me up to take the more expensive package?

This is why i havent commited to any ISP yet or had a line installed.

Take the 2Mbps package. Within the the next few months it will be upgraded to 4Mbps for free. At that stage you will need to review your ISP package.
