Telkom contract price increases

Hey guys

have your'll noticed telkoms increased prices on contract for mobile devices. Since last month their prices have increased by R50 on almost all low to mid range phones..

Are they bringing their prices in line with Vodacom / MTN

And my contract is up for renewal from next month... looks like have to wait for Black Friday deals
 
They also took away the 10gb of Telkom hotspot wi-fi from existing contracts, but we supposedly got an extra 1gb of mobile data added as compensation.

Are you referring to the 2gb freeme being punted instead of the 1gb freeme contract?

I need follow up and see why I am not getting that 1gb data. The one day in 2 years i need data and want to use it is the day they cancelled it. I still never get the extra gb data, time to follow up and make a fuss.
 
I don't see the so called 1GB on my Telkom contact.

I looked into it a bit more & found this:

Active Telkom Mobile customers whom have been using the Wi-Fi service will receive additional Telkom Mobile complimentary data as illustrated below. This is offered at the sole discretion of Telkom, based on historical Wi-Fi hotspot data usage?

According to the post-paid in contract section I should get the complimentary data for the remainder of my contract, don't understand the average WiFi data usage part however I was a regular user of the Telkom WiFi data, wimpy close to my place still had a pretty reliable telkom hotspot

I'd advise you to take it up with them directly & demand at least an extra gig of mobile data. I'm thinking about actually confronting them myself since I could never connect to any Telkom hotspots since I received my new device a few months ago.
 
I see that Telkom is now charging a R99 activation fee on Samsung Galaxy Note 10 contracts. I assume that this will spread to all contracts as they get used to making easy money.
 
I got 6GB on my main contract number on Telkom and about 800mb on my prepaid. I actually used the wifi 2 times just before they killed it. More testing than anything else. Was downloading 2 torrents with the free wifi allocation while eating a Chicken MC Muffin breakfast. :)

The contract number is the uncapped contract anyways so no use there.
