Telkom could make another bid for Cell C - Report

Telkom SA SOC Ltd. is considering making an offer to buy a majority stake in Cell C Pty Ltd. that would lead to a combination of South Africa’s third- and fourth-largest mobile-phone companies, according to people familiar with the matter.

The former landline monopoly is seeking management control of the Johannesburg-based carrier, said the people, who asked not to be named as the plans are private.

This may help Cell-C in the long term and possibly create a good strong 3rd Operator with the ability to compete Effectively with Vodacom and MTN , it will further Boost the coverage and profits of Telkom.

Yes they taking a quick R1 Billion Profit.

So the time to invest in blue label is now. Buy now and sell next year after they launch Cell-C.

But I guess Blue Label will want to hold a stake like 33% in the new merged operator.

Goodbye competition.

lol. Really?
Yes. Telkom is much more expensive than Cell C since they killed their Smartbroadband bundles. With Cell C gone there would be nothing to stop them from further increasing prices.

Guess I'm porting to Vodacom. CellC and Telkom have both let me down on many an occasion.

Hope their customer service improve and fibre connection spread to more suburbs

Telkom must take over cell-c faster to increase capacity on all fronts to deliver great speeds to the masses who are tired of this throttling by cell-c it's about time somebody challenged Vodacom and MTN

Blue Label went from R15.00+ per share to around R5.00...after buying into CellC..plenty of value in Blue Label, you right can pick up Blue Label shares, cheap cheap.
