Telkom delivering exceptional service

I never thought I would end up writing this but there comes a time when one simply has to dish out praise when it is due.....even if it is to Hellkom.

Now people this is no exaggeration....

Sat 19th April 11am: I call 10219 and order ADSL for home (yep residential)

After going through the cross-selling motions with the Telkom service agent I am given a reference number and told to expect my line to be activated in 6 weeks. Ok so nothing new here.

Tuesday (yesterday) I get a SMS from Telkom stating my line has been activated. IMPOSSIBLE I say. Get home from work, plug in DSL modem and all is up and running!!! That would mean that I had DSL in under 2 business days!

I should add that I did go with the DIY order.

Now has anybody out there had better service than that from Telkom?

My previous ADSL installation/activation took 2 days as well. :p

The phone line installation took close to 3 months, though... :eek:
 
My ADSL installation took well over 3 months. Then again this was back in 2005 I think.
 
My Adsl order took 3 months, then nothing happened, then the order was apparently cancelled, then some fighting for a month, then re-order plus installation in 5 days, back in 2006.
The Adsl was ordered by Mnet Multichoice for the house, mother is an employee there. Even a big client like multichoice has to deal with such great service from Telkom.
