Telkom Delivers Strong Results

Thats R9.3billion attributable profit! Twice what it was 2 years ago. I'm not feeling well.
 
Let's all get ready for when government gnashes it's teeth over these results ("How can Telkom lay off so many people when they're making so much!?!?") and then does nothing.

Telkom makes so much profit because it has laid off so many people. Unfortunately it needed those people to deliver a decent service, but no-one cares about the consumer when the shareholders are happy.
 
Uhm the gov will say:
This yr we made xyz profit off Telkom, some for the varios projects we need and the erh others for my back pocket.
We spoke about reducing cost and made the people feel that we are doing something, we still have their support.
Overall its a good day in africa, time for a rest.

Unfortunately the government never seems to take notice of that. Even when the unions make a a hell of a noise about that it seems to fall on deaf ears. I suppose when the cash cow delivers the profits it does, no price is too much to pay for earplugs to block out annoying "whingers"
 
Totally unacceptable!! They are requesting ICASA in their pricing proposals to increase telephone line rental by a whopping 7% from 1 August. How can this be justified when looking at their annual financial results?
