I have 4mbps uncapped from Telkom.
I am really happy with the product, I am not a heavy downloader. I download around 250gigs per month and have not noticed any shaping. I use the service for Netflix and I get perfect 720p any time of the day. HTTP downloads allways fly at fulll line speed. Torrents are crap during the day but work fine from midnight till around seven.
I had the 10gig before uncapped and it was perfect. Really worth it in my opinion and for the price my phone bill was R571 this month all inclusive that includes the telephone rental, adsl line rental, uncapped data and closer 2, plus around R30 in phone calls. Their pricing is superb!

I phoned Telkom today and they gave me a price of R644 for the telkom simple plus bundle. How did you manage R541 excluding your phone calls.

Telkom have discounts which are not discussed by 10210 or mentioned on the website, they just appear on your invoice. in Nov I got a total of R179.82CR excl in respect of my capped & uncapped accounts.
So how do you qualify for these discounts or even know what is available?

No idea, but the pricing you see on the website is the maximum you will pay exclusive of any discounts you may qualify for.
My Do Uncapped Premium Plus Bundle discount is +/- 12.5% of the 10Mbps line + TI 10Mbps Uncapped total (R109.65/R876.32 VAT excl). I'm on month to month, no contracts.

Hi there. I'm also on the Telkom 4mbps line which was recently upgraded "for free" to 10mbps. In reality achieving around 8mbps which is great. I also watch Netflix thru Overplay.net SmartDNS service. I never had any issues except the past 2-3 days where Netflix has slowed down to a snails pace. Did speedtest and no issues...
Anyone else have the same problem lately with Telkom steaming speeds?
Instead on starting a new thread, can anyone help me choose a TI uncapped plan. I have averaged around 510GB over the last 12 months and currently on Mwebs 4MB Premium service which equates to a monthly cost of R1159 (incl a Closer Plan 2 option).

Should do, I think you will get close to or more than 510GB a month. You will have to wait for one of the 4Mb/s users to comment. Also whatever you use from 00:00-06:00 does not count towards your usage so I would say you should easily get 510GB.
If you have a look at the Telkom uncapped thread you will see that poor international speed and latency has become quite common making streaming and gaming near impossible.
It looks very much like a capacity issue to me which hopefully gets resolved soon.
My streaming issues started this past Saturday with HD iTunes streaming (SD worked fine) but as of now it is impossible to stream anything whether it be iTunes, Netflix, Hulu or Crackle without some sort of issue.
