Telkom Do3 Cancelation

Ok So I tried to find out what the cost would be of canceling my Do3 contract with Telkom.

Conversation went like this....
Telkom:"good day this is ...... how can I asist?"
Me: "good day I would like to find out what the penalty charge would be to cancel my contract?"
Telkom:"Sir, please cancel your service so that we can send you an invoice"
Me: "No I just need an amount to make an informed decision"
Tekom: "No sorry Sir we cannot do that your invoice will tell you as soon as you cancel the service....."

So WTF? Can anyone please then tell me where I can get the details???? Or if it can be done at all?
 
You lose the remaining data allocation for the rest of the month. They don't do pro-rata.
 
Tho get the modem etc.

If you cancel a contract they will charge you for the outstanding remaining contract period too as far as I believe.

Was what I've done and the "very helpful" telkom agent could not give me a total. Said I first had to cancel the contract then wait for the invoice.
 
I do know that they bill you for the router as well.... so add that figure to whatever you had in your mind
 
I believe its 50% of the contract. So thats half of what you pay per month * the amount of months you have left.
 
My advise is phone again, you might get a more competent person. They should be able to tell you roughly.

Contracts in SA's broadband environment are epic fail. My advise to people is just spend the R650 on a router and avoid a mess like this ;)
 
I was told it was R70 per month for the remainder of the contract by a person working at telkom direct, not sure if this is true though.
 
what if you want to keep your email address what would i have to pay? and what is the notice period for the cancellation of the do account?
