last december i applied for a phone line . and adsl line the telkom guys came out promptly a week later n installed the line the phone lined worked but the adsl would not sync i called telkom they did resets etc yada yada yada yada they even said they were gonna send a tech to my house to check weeks later now in jan the tech does not materialize he logs that he cannot find the place better still he cannot reach me after calling them for the upteenth time they tell me there is no fault on the line the problem is the installation is incomplete so my question at this point the line is now completely dead was y didint they say this from the beginnig y log error faults etc etc etc
so when will the line be complete hmmm the technicians cannot find my house could these technicians not phone me to ask for directions to my house so i call again find out the address they have on the system is wrong i give them the correct address 5 times in a row then some other bright spark finally tells me that the people in the calll centre cannot update the system i have to return to telkom shop
which i do n find out that my address does not exist it has to be added to the system and i have to wait a few weeks for someone to confirm that my address does exist then a techie can come to my house i had to make a new application for a phone line
so now here is the thing how was the first techie able to come to my house n put the line in the first place
so iks the problem the system or are telkom people just incompetent
it really does seem like telkom should spend more on educaion of its employees
 
This is the Telkom that we have to deal with. There must be hundreds of stories from various people on this forum - each one is unique.
I can only suggest that if you have been given a Ref. No. - just keep calling and asking for updates. If you find that you are not getting any joy, ask them to escalate the problem.
