Telkom Fibre Question

Telkom is rolling out Fibre in my location and I should have availability soon. I know that once you reach your cap, you get throttled...I just want to know are you throttled down to 56k speeds, old 512k speeds or what as Telkom refuses to give me clarity on this.

I'm not 100% sure, but usually its a 1/10th of you full speed

The 10Mbps option is also throttled to 512Kbps I thought?
Interested to know what happens to fiber as well.

I am in the Elarduspark area. They are currently rolling it out in my street. So I am very excited. I will be taking the 100mb p/s line, so I am not sure how much I will be throttled because the first few months that 100gb is going to get raped

Lol, yeah when i get fibre i'll be in the same boat as you

You can always try other ISP's... but then not most offer the unlimited Night Data

I'm currently capped on a 20Mb Telkom line and it appears that it's capped at 384. I think this may be the same for the other packages but needs to be confirmed.

I have Telkom 100Mbps fibre installed and if you reach your cap (200GB in my case), you get throttled to 384kbps

The marketing guys told me you get throttled to 10% of your line speed, and I asked them twice just to be sure before I signed up. The double data promotion until March 2016 will give some relief, but a larger cap would be nice -- especially for people who stream Netflix/Youtube during the day.

You did 200GB in 8 days with night surfing? Surely if you queue items for after 12 this would not happen. However my question is do you get 400GB now with the double data promotion?

it does in fact throttle 100mbps lines down to .384 lol what a joke
