Telkom FreeMe questions

I'm thinking of moving to telkom because of the FreeMe offers but I need to know some things first.
1. Does the Telkom FreeMe data work while roaming on mtn?
2. Does the FreeMe free WhatsApp/Viber/BBM data also work while roaming on MTN?
3. Does the free WhatsApp data also work with video calling or will it use the normal FreeMe data?

First person to answer will get a prize. (Prizes come in many forms, like for example: a 'thank you' qualifies as a prize)

Yes to first two but unsure about 3. I stay on MTN roaming as the signal is more reliable

Yes.

the whatsapp, they allocate a seperate balance for whatsapp

so for example
1gig freeme bundle

1gig of all-network regular data
10gig of wifi data
500mb of IM data (whatsapp, bbm, viber)
300 minutes voice (telkom mobile & telkom fixed)


so your whatsapp calls, images etc all come of the 500meg balance

I stand to be corrected but thats how i understand it and my usage kinda reflects this too as the TM mobile app shows each data bundle seperately. That said i hardly do whatsapp calls and almost never do video calls.

Just be the way, your Whatsapp isn’t free anymore. You need to have normal data loaded or airtime on your spend limit to use the free Whatsapp from June 2018 its their new policy. False advertising and pathetic service, that’s Telkom for you

Wow thanx for clearing that up, so im chucking away this telkom sim just going to get the mtn whatsapp bundle for my daughter R17 for 1gig.

That doesn't make sense The Telkom whatsapp bundle is cheaper.
