Telkom FTTH Cape Town Progress

Does anybody know exactly what the progress is of the Cape Town FTTH roll-out? I have been looking at the coverage maps but there don't seem to be much progress of light purple areas turning dark purple . My area was added to the coverage map (light purple ) a couple of months ago but the contractors have not yet even set up a staging area never-mind laying the actual conduits.

I was wondering if anybody knew what the hold up is? Is there a problem area/a way leave problem or is Telkom just slow?

We spoke to a Telkom dude who had his table set up in the cul de sac that borders our tiny suburb on Saturday (felt sorry for him because it was so hot). Coverage map shows fibre adjacent to us (confirmed by them digging a couple months ago), but the dude told us they coming to lay the goods in Dec, even though the area isn't marked as planned yet.

I suspect they going to push to get alot done during the holidays.

Wish there was some kind of (up to date) map available showing planned areas and progress.

Not much progress in CT unfortunately if I compare last year December to now.Rondebosch area and surrounds has been in planning stage for a year.

Fibre in Kenilworth was laid last month, apparently they're hoping to have it up and running before the end of the year.. we'll see.
